The purpose of a spring is to support the weight of a vehicle and its load, and that of a shock absorber is to control the spring by absorbing excess energy. In doing so, it has a major impact on the ride and handling of your vehicle.
During development of the Nitrocharger Sport OME shock absorbers, particular attention was paid to matching them to the particular springs they would control. Engineers adapted the shock absorber valves to work with the different springs in the range. The result is often that several shock absorbers are available for each vehicle. Whether for work or leisure, ARB has a solution for just about any application.

Steering dampers (below)
An integral part of the Old Man Emu 4x4 suspension range, steering stabilizers are designed to reduce the effect of wheel vibration and improve vehicle feel, handling and control. They will also reduce aggressive steering wheel rotation on rough roads without affecting steering return.

MATERIAL

OME offers a variety of urethane and rubber bushing kits for shock absorbers, leaf springs, Panhard bars, suspension arms and stabilizer bars. Unique items such as our splined leaf spring silent blocks and caster correction kits guarantee top performance.

COIL SPRINGS
ARB designs a wide range of Old Man Emu coil springs for every vehicle, using advanced micro-alloyed spring steel to ensure superior resistance to sagging and corrosion. With such a wide range, coil springs can be better matched to your specific load requirements and intended vehicle use.
Although a lift is achieved, the focus is more on suspension tuning improvements. Finer tuning is possible when the springs are combined with a matching set of Old Man Emu shock absorbers. The result is a fully integrated system designed specifically for your vehicle.

A wide range of springs is available to suit a multitude of applications, allowing you to configure your vehicle for recreational or professional use. A set of Old Man Emu leaf springs matched with a set of Old Man Emu 4×4 shocks will greatly enhance your vehicle's ride, handling and load-carrying capacity.
LEAF SPRING CHARACTERISTICS
Tapered, diamond-cut blades ensure progressive load distribution over a larger surface area. This reduces the high stresses present at the blade tips and improves driving comfort and service life.
Blade fasteners are screwed to allow installation of nylon anti-squeal coatings
Fully preset to ensure permanent spring "posture" and reduce the risk of sagging
Load tests ensure that the spring complies with the necessary specifications
Military envelope designed for added security
Greasable nylon anti-friction inter-blade bearings reduce friction at blade ends where load is greatest
Flat axle mounting area provides secure, positive mounting on the axle, reducing stress on the spring and extending its service life
The tension side of all blades is shot-blasted to reduce stress on the spring. This process can double the life of a spring.
Two layers of leaf springs are available on most rear springs for optimum comfort. When unladen, the vehicle rests largely on the first layer, and the second layer provides additional support when a heavy load is added.
